Phytoplasma

It is mollicutes that infect plants and cannot yet be grown in culture.....

Amaizing figurs

during my reding , the "plant pathology for N.AGRIO ,i found that diseases, insects and weed estimated to cause about 30 to 41% damage of all crop production ,worldwide annually !!

Zinc deficiency

Zinc deficiency on citrus (orange). Small, narrow leaves have ye yellow mottling between the llow veins. This deficiency affects younger leaves first.

nitrogen cycle

The nitrogen cycle is the process by which nitrogen is converted between its various chemical forms. This transformation can be carried out to both biological and physical processes. Important processes in the nitrogen cycle include fixation, mineralization, nitrification, and denitrification.

Nitrogen = N

Is a chemical element represented by the N symbol, consist of 78% by volume of the earth atmospheres.
The main component of earth’s atmosphere “Most widely distributed in nature, a Key elements present in many compounds of plant cells and occurs in all living organisms. Is relatively inert substance.
That is to be useful must be converted into active form. It is an essential element, Required in highe a mount In terms of quantity in the phytomass, it is 4th among the bioelements, after C, O and H. Very mobile elements, circulating between atmosphere, soil and living organism. ¨   Soil is the main source for plant nitrogen. From the soil N, only very small proportion is directly available to plants, as N03¯ and NH4+ ,Nitrogen also released from plants in the form of organic compound ¨ Availability Main forms of inorganic compounds are: Nitrates (NO3-), Nitrites (NO2-) & ammonium (NH4+)

Ziziphus ,sidr tree

Common name: Sidr
 Scientific name: Ziziphus spina-christi
This magnificent tree was a major source of timber for building boats in past centuries. Its flowers provide the nectar for the finest pale yellow Omani honey. Its Nabak fruits formerly sold in suq and eaten by people. The sidr masaydrani  is a variety of the  same species. Its most important to honey bees, flowers and fruits several weeks earlier, increasing the availability of nectar and, therefore, the overall honey production of the bees.
Best grown from seeds. The seeds should be bruised with a hammer to make germination easier. Once germinated and have reached about 5 cm height, they should be transplanted to their permanent position.

Ghaf tree

Common name: Ghaf
Scientific name: Prosopis cineraria
This magnificent tree occurs in the Arabian Peninsula, Iran, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Growing to 10m in height, it provides the best shade of all desert tree. Its flowers are important for wild honey bees. Its branches and dense foliage provides habitat for birds and reptiles.
Best grown from seeds , as young trees transplanted from the wild are difficult to establish.  Ghaf trees grow very slowly in the first year by seeds propagation, but then progress quickly after that

Acacia sudden declin

i am warred ,i notes that the Acacia trees in my area dies suddenly without any obvious symptoms , I estimated that in each 1 km^2 ,among 100 tree you will find 7 -15 is declined  !? , this observation on Oman ,Yanqel -Wadi Al Harim ,

1         Abstract

Ditylenchus is a group of plant parasitic nematodes which is considered as a major problem in temperate areas on garlic and related crops. A series of studies were created on Al Jabal Al Akdar and in vitro to identify and control garlic nematode in Omani and Chinese varieties of garlic. The main experiment consisted of the solarization of two fields in Alshraja in Al Jabal Al Akder. Heat treatment experiments of the soil and garlic cloves was performed in the lab. For nematode identification two experiments were conducted, the first one was in molecular identification of DNA and the second one was identification by electron microscope.
In the field there were nearly 31000 nematodes in every 250g of soil. Soil solarization showed no effect on nematode populations. Identification of the nematode is important to get an efficient solution for control or at least reduce the population. Molecular identification confirmed Ditylenchus dipsaci as the causal agent of garlic problem in Al Jabal Al Akhdar. In Oman as in many countries worldwide nematodes threaten agricultural resources and it is important to know how to act against this threat. The aims of this study were (i) identify nematodes and (ii) find potential ways to control plant parasitic nematodes. One useful solution to reduce losses is to use nematode free seed. The outcome of this project can be used by the government and farmers to strengthen regional agricultural.
